At Chainy Collection, we believe that jewellery truly shines when it is worn. With proper care and maintenance, your precious pieces will stand the test of time, maintaining their exquisite beauty for generations to come.

As part of our Product Care we highly recommend Jewellery Insurance for all Chainy Collection created pieces. Accidents can happen, and your precious pieces can get lost, stolen, or damaged. Having jewellery insurance gives you peace of mind and financial protection in case of any unforeseen circumstances. It ensures that you can replace or repair your jewellery without having to bear the full cost of the loss. Therefore, protecting your jewellery with insurance is a smart decision that every jewellery owner should consider.

Care and cleaning

DIAMOND CARE

Pieces featuring pavé or micropavé settings are naturally delicate and may experience stone loss, regardless of the craftsmanship or setting quality. When wearing jewellery with this type of diamond setting, extra care must be taken to avoid any damage. To maintain the sparkle of your diamonds, we recommend using a soft, chemical-free microfiber cloth to clean them.

It's important to have diamond settings professionally assessed by Chainy Collection periodically. Please note that this service will incur a fee. We also recommend getting professional cleaning of your diamond jewellery. To arrange this please contact us at info@chainycollection.com. This service will also incur a small fee.

GEMSTONE CARE

Gemstones can vary in permeability and may absorb substances they come in contact with, leading to colour change. Proper care is crucial to maintain the appearance and durability of your cherished jewellery.

To prevent damage, avoid exposing your jewellery to chemicals such as hairspray, cosmetics, sunscreen, lotion, or hand sanitiser, and do not wear it while swimming, showering, sleeping or playing sports. Submerging coloured gemstones in water should also be avoided. Perspiration and natural body oils can also affect the gemstones and minerals, which are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered under the Chainy Collection warranty. To clean your jewellery, use a soft-bristle brush with tepid water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Do not use commercial jewellery cleaners, ultrasonics, or cleaning chemicals. It is recommended to store your gemstone and mineral jewellery in a cool, dry place such as your Chainy Collection jewellery box.

WHITE GOLD & STERLING SILVER CARE

To enhance the shine and achieve a brilliant white finish, our white gold and some sterling silver jewellery is plated with white rhodium. However, it's important to note that the rhodium plating may naturally wear off over time due to various environmental factors and the frequency of wear. To maintain the optimal colour and shine of your jewellery, we recommend re-plating it periodically. Please be aware that re-plating is not covered by the Chainy Collection warranty, however we do provide this service for a fee.

SILVER CARE

To prevent tarnish build-up on sterling silver, it's important to take regular weekly care. Tarnish is a natural occurrence when silver comes in contact with air, skin, oils, and daily chemicals. Fortunately, tarnish, dirt, and smudges can be easily removed from silver by dry polishing the surface with a silver polishing cloth.

To ensure the longevity of your silver jewellery, we recommend storing it in your Chainy Collection Jewellery box.

Please note that silver jewellery featuring a brushed or oxidized silver finish should not be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth as it may damage the high-polished finish.

BLACK PLATINUM PLATING CARE

Chainy Collection's black platinum jewellery is expertly plated with either black rhodium or black ruthenium, creating a sleek and stylish look. While our pieces are crafted to the highest standards, wear and tear, rubbing, and exposure to abrasive materials or surfaces are not covered by our warranty. To maintain the longevity of your plated jewellery, we recommend using only a soft microfibre cloth that's free from chemicals to gently clean it. Please avoid contact with any substances that could potentially damage the plating, such as hairspray, cosmetics, sunscreen, lotion, perfume, or hand sanitiser.

PEARL CARE

To keep your pearl and mother of pearl jewellery in pristine condition, use a soft cloth to gently wipe them clean. Avoid exposing them to water, detergents, alcohol, or any other cleaning solutions, as they can cause damage. Chemical-free cleaning is the best way to maintain the natural beauty of your jewellery.

It's important to keep your jewellery away from harsh chemicals such as hairspray, cosmetics, sunscreen, lotion, perfume, or hand sanitizer, which can also cause damage. Treating your cherished pieces delicately is essential, and it's advisable to remove them before swimming, showering, sleeping, or playing sports.

To ensure your jewellery is protected and doesn't rub against other items that may cause damage, store it in its Chainy Collection Jewellery box or another safe and secure location. By following these simple care instructions, your jewellery will remain a cherished possession for years to come.
